Quality Engineer

Perm mornings (6am-2pm, Mon-Fri, attracting a shift allowance of 12% in addition to the base salary)

Objectives:

  • Support Maier UK customers with product quality related issues whilst maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Understand production concerns and communicate to the appropriate responsible persons.
  • Ensure the correct standards are in place to assure the production processes are repeatable & stable.
  • Lead and drive practical problem-solving activities.

Tasks:

  • Lead warranty & service problem-solving.
  • Support MTC in project development (Process FMEA, Control plan, Quality instructions, Checking fixture design, process capabilities, master sample definition).
  • Identify abnormalities by self-audits to maintain process control, identify process weaknesses & necessities.
  • Product Segregation (OK / NOK parts), support production in problem-solving, confirm countermeasure action robustness.
  • Manage internally diverted parts & stock checks.
  • Liaise between production departments and internal customers.
  • Drive Quality basics in all production areas.

Responsibility:

  • Take direction from Quality Manager.
  • Escalate any customer/internal concerns to Quality Manager.
  • Support production improvement requirements/needs.
  • Respect company systems and procedures.
  • Respect customer quality standards.
  • Active role in Quality & Production Level 2 Meeting.

Requirements:

  • Leader of customer quality improvement teams.
  • Leader of customer concern reports (8d or customer format).
  • Leader of Practical Problem Solving.
  • Experience within automotive supply (1st tier preferred).
  • Recognised engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Self-motivated and passionate.
  • Able to perform tasks using own initiative.
  • Experience of working in teams.
  • Knowledge of injection moulding and/or paint processes.
  • Good organisational skills with a systematic approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills on all levels.
