Job Purpose:
To process every consignment to its final destination using
the most efficient routing, ensuring compliance with client
requirements and our company Quality Standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Review import documents for accuracy and
completeness.
Work with Customs brokers to ensure timely clearance
of import shipments.
Ensure regulatory requirements are met, and proper
documentation, including transit documents and
customs clearances, exists for shipments
Have a strong knowledge of the US import entry
process, rules, and compliance.
Communicate with clients about import and
Customs-related issues.
Troubleshoot import-related Customs and other
government agency delays.
Ensure documentation is accurately processed,
distributed, and released to carriers, forwarders,
customers, and agents in a timely manner.
Prepare all necessary data entry and confirmation of
key milestones (departure, arrival, customs clearance,
etc.).
Maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer
relations.
Develop and maintain successful relationships with
local vendors (e.g., airline representatives, freight
forwarders, custom brokers).
Communicate with customers, supply chain, and the
management team to ensure necessary requirements
are met.
Stay current on U.S. Customs regulations (Customs
Brokers and the Customs clearance process); and
classification and validation rules through self-study,
approved related courses and seminars, and regular
review of trade publications
Collaborate with various departments on
cross-department activities promoting process
optimization.
Interface and assist other departments with process/
compliance questions that may arise regarding import
shipments.
Review all documentation provided by clients and
other departments or branch offices.
Confirm that shipments are ready to be sent to the
final destination and obtain MAWB consignment
instructions.
Determine the best possible route for dispatching
shipments to their final destinations.
Condition shipments as required and update the
necessary milestones in Maestro.
Obtain bookings with airlines and consign the MAWB
as instructed.
Enter the RL for international flights
Send alerts through Maestro.
Coordinate with Dispatch to drop off shipments to the
airline according to the respective COT.
Use the Export Daily Schedule Report and update
Maestro with all departures from designated airports.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all
shipments meet regulatory requirements
Ensure all route legs are complete with operational
details and cost estimates entered in Maestro.
Requirements:
*High School diploma or equivalent
*Experience with imports recovery and domestic
transfers.
*Experience liaising with customs brokers to pre-alert
imports and follow up on clearance status
*Air freight/freight forwarding experience
*Responsible for scanning, packaging, and labeling
inbound shipments before tendering for final
destinations, both domestic and international.
Full command of english language.
Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 6 pm, plus one weekend per month.
