We are currently searching for a Consultant – Weld Shop / BIW:
Responsibilities:
- Guide the team in process feasibility studies for new product requirements in existing facilities.
- Facilitate benchmarking of Body Shop FTGs, electrical controls, automation, and systems for energy efficiency and corrosion protection.
- Plan new product facilities, tools, gauges, fixtures, budgets, procurement, and implementation, maximizing the use of existing equipment.
- Develop budget options to support strategic decisions related to equipment suppliers.
- Direct teams in adapting new products to existing facilities with equipment enhancements for new models and variants.
- Analyze process and product requirements to guide equipment selection.
- Add value by interacting with the manufacturing team, collecting MTBF and MTTR data, and incorporating it into new equipment RFQ preparation.
- Conduct lessons learned sessions for ongoing and completed projects to improve RFQ preparations.
- Lead the development of control and robotics architecture, including design buyoff and equipment buyoff checklists for suppliers.
- Evaluate suppliers, conduct technical discussions, perform SWOT analysis, and assist in supplier negotiations.
- Ensure supplier compliance with RFQ specifications, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Identify and eliminate capacity constraints using method study tools (Man-Machine charts, online-offline strategies, low-cost automation).
- Conduct detailed studies on sustainable new technologies, equipment, systems, and materials for implementation.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and post-installation support.
- Lead the team in implementing Industry 4.0 solutions.
- Identify skill enhancement needs and arrange appropriate training for the team.
- Direct and lead the team in executing M6-level programs.
Requirements:
- Experience in process feasibility, equipment planning, and automation for Body Shop / BIW.
- Strong knowledge of Industry 4.0, robotics, automation, and electrical controls.
- Expertise in benchmarking energy efficiency and corrosion protection systems.
- Proficiency in supplier evaluation, RFQ preparation, and capital purchase negotiations.
- Ability to analyze and optimize manufacturing capacity using method study tools.
