We are currently searching for an Automotive Process Feasibility and Equipment Planning Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Guide the team in conducting process feasibility studies for new product requirements within existing facilities.
- Facilitate team efforts towards benchmarking Body Shop FTGs, electrical controls, automation, and systems to enhance energy efficiency and corrosion protection in products.
- Plan for new products, including facilities, tools, gauges, fixtures, budget, procurement, and implementation, while maximizing the use of existing equipment.
- Develop budget options and strategies to assist with supplier selection for equipment.
- Lead teams in adapting new products to existing facilities with equipment enhancements for new models and variants.
- Guide the selection of equipment based on process and product requirements.
- Add value by interacting with the manufacturing team, collecting equipment-related MTBF and MTTR data, and incorporating this information into RFQ preparation for new equipment.
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions for ongoing and completed projects to improve RFQ preparations.
- Lead and contribute to the creation of architecture for controls and robotics, including creating checklists for design and equipment buyoffs at supplier sites.
- Scout, coordinate with, and evaluate suppliers using SWOT analysis to assist capital purchase teams in negotiating and selecting the best equipment supplier.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to RFQ specifications, quality standards, and timely delivery.
- Identify and eliminate capacity constraints using method study tools (Man-Machine charts, online-offline strategies, low-cost automation, etc.).
- Study and implement sustainable new technologies, equipment, systems, and material evaluations.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and post-installation support for new equipment.
- Lead the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Identify team skill enhancement needs and arrange appropriate training.
- Lead the execution of M6 level programs.
Requirements:
- 10-15 years of experience in the automotive industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Expertise in project management, engineering applications, commercial acumen, resource planning, and capacity enhancement.
- Deep knowledge of Body Shop equipment, controls, FTG, and manufacturing processes.
Desired:
- Hands-on experience with Catia V5 and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of process simulation (added advantage).
- Experience with MTM/MOST and cycle time evaluation studies.
Languages
- Advanced Oral English.
- Native Spanish.
