This position reports into Technical Operations Execution Leader-Mexico and is based at Mexico City, Mexico.

What will you do

The Technical Operations Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to manufacturing plants, quality assurance, and other supply chain areas in material and manufacturing processes troubleshooting to guarantee reliability in base business execution for OTC (over the counter) and cosmetics products. Execute and sometimes lead life cycle management projects for technology transfers, cost reduction, business continuity plan development, or productivity improvement in manufacturing plants. Ensure all supported projects are defined, planned, documented, and executed in compliance with procedures, regulatory requirements, GMP, EHS, and corporate quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide technical support to investigations, CAPA, troubleshooting, and rapid response events related to raw material, product composition, manufacturing process design, or consumer complaint, by conducting root cause analysis and historical data evaluation.
  2. Plan and support execution of industrial scale batches, compile and analyze data, identify root causes, draw conclusions, and generate reports.
  3. Elaborate product impact assessments and technical justifications.
  4. Provide ongoing general technical assistance in miscellaneous supply chain activities.
  5. Execute and sometimes lead life cycle management projects for technology transfers, cost reduction, business continuity plan development, manufacturing processes optimization, or new technology implementation, working with multi-functional teams for OTC and cosmetic products.
  6. Execute technical activities related to life cycle management projects including, but not limited to, historical data review, product and manufacturing process assessment, development plan and other technical documents elaboration, pilot and/or trial execution, specifications, and standard procedures review, etc.
  7. Technically support manufacturing processes validations and cleaning & sanitization validations.

Qualifications

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or correlated areas is required.
  2. 2-4 years’ experience or similar experience within the pharmaceutical or related industry.
  3. Intermediate level of English and Spanish is a must.
  4. Experience in technical writing, cGMPs, ANVISA / COFEPRIS / FDA / ICH regulations.
  5. Knowledge in statistics (DOE, process capability, control charts, etc).
  6. Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, resilience, and ability to manage conflicts.
  7. Travel requirements up to 10%.
  8. Must be a critical thinker with problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Working experience in pharmaceutical and/or cosmetic manufacturing processes development and/or life cycle management support is preferred.
  2. Intermediate Portuguese will be considered a differential.
  3. Good communication, organizational, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
